Public Charging.
How to charge your electrified BMW in public.
- Download a charging application and complete the registration process. Now, you can see all the charging stations are available to you.
- Complete the setup process as prompted on your BMW’s display to prepare it for charging. The accepted input ranges from 16A to 32A*. Choosing an appropriate amperage will reduce charging time. Your choice is subject to the maximum limit of each model.
- Switch off your BMW before plugging in the charger. BMW supports two types of currents: AC and DC (full-electric vehicles only).
- Confirm your charging detail on your preferred app to authorize payment and initiate charging starting at just 45 Baht per hour**
- If the blue light flashes, charging is in progress. There are two ways you can see charging times and battery levels:
- on your BMW’s display; and
- on the My BMW App.
- Once your BWM is all charged up, unlock it to disconnect the charger. You cannot remove the charger without unlocking your car. This is a security feature to prevent unauthorized removal of the charger.
*To see your car’s maximum input limit, use the display. Go to Charging Settings > Current Limit. Select your preferred limit.

How to charge your car at home through BMW Wallbox.
- Set the input current to anywhere between 16A–32A. To do this, go to Charging on your BMW’s display. Your choice is subject to the maximum limit of each model.
- Switch off your car and plug the BMW Wallbox in.
- If the blue light flashes, charging is in progress. There are two ways you can see charging times and battery levels:
- on your BMW’s display; and
- on the My BMW App.
- Once your BWM is all charged up, unlock it to disconnect the charger. You cannot remove the charger without unlocking your car. This is a security feature to prevent unauthorized removal of the charger.
- To charge at specific hours, select the start and stop times on your display from “Time Slot”. This feature lets you keep your car plugged in and charge during off-peak hours when electricity is at its cheapest.
Caution In an emergency, where a secondary charging cable is used (either a Mode 2 Cable or Flexible Fast Charger) with your home’s electrical outlet, choose the low 6A current for your own safety. Do not use this method regularly. Your home’s electrical system may not meet the standards required for vehicle charging. Most importantly, do not use an extension cord or an adaptor under any circumstance.

BMW Wallbox.
The BMW Wallbox is a permanent fixture on your wall—your personal energy dispenser. It charges your car up quickly, reliably, and conveniently with a maximum output of 22 kilowatts.* In addition to being compact, your BMW Wallbox also features a charging cable, a status display, and a built-in error detector. Installation is easy and economical. *Charging is subject to the maximum input of each model.
Flexible Fast Charger.
In an emergency, select a maximum output of 6A only. This charger can be used at home or on the go. The water-resistant box and charging cable of the Flexible Fast Charger is highly adaptable to different environments. It’s most suited for household and three-phase electricity.
Standard Charging Cable (Mode 2).
In an emergency, select a maximum output of 6A only. The 5-meter-long 2.3 kW standard charging cable (Mode 2) comes with every BMW electric car.* It is designed to be plugged into your home’s outlet. CAUTION! Do not use it with an extension cord or an adaptor.

Caution.
- Inspect the general condition of all charging equipment (charging port, charging cable, charging station, and outlet) and the wear and tear. For example, a dirty, loose, or damaged charging surface may cause overheating and become a fire hazard.
- Do not charge your vehicle near a flammable substance, including while refueling.
- If you are using the standard charging cable, always plug it in directly to your wall socket. Do not use an extension cord or an adapter.
- Do not charge your car while it’s wet. For example, don’t charge it outdoors while it’s raining or while it’s being washed.
- Choosing a current limit that is too high may damage your home’s or charging point’s electrical system. If you are not confident in the supporting structure of the charging point, we recommend selecting the lowest amperage.
- Electric cars and plug-in hybrids should be recharged regularly to maintain the life expectancy of their batteries, especially if they are used for short daily commutes or if they have remained stationary for more than one month.
- We do not recommend leaving your electric car or plug-in hybrid stationary for more than three months at a battery level of less than 50%. If you need to leave your vehicle parked long-term, we recommend charging it up to full battery both before parking and before use.
- Always inspect the condition of every piece of equipment for your own safety.
