BMW THAILAND INTRODUCES A NEW M LEGEND TO THAILAND – THE BMW M2 CS WITH GENUINE MOTORSPORT SENSATION.

Bangkok. BMW Thailand has unleashed the new BMW M2 CS, the new high-performance coupe that blends racetrack optimization with everyday usability, on Thai fans. The compact powerhouse has been developed to deliver higher performance, sportier design and more agility than its predecessor, the BMW M2 Competition. The new BMW M2 CS is the first exclusive and limited-run special-edition model created by BMW M GmbH for the premium compact class.

Mr. Alexander Baraka, President, BMW Group Thailand, said, "The new BMW M2 CS comes with enhancements that set it apart from the fan-favourite M2, further embracing the pure motorsport thrill that defines BMW M's distinctive character. It is designed to deliver genuine motorsport sensations while still offering BMW’s iconic driving pleasure and everyday usability. The arrival of the BMW M2 CS is another proof of our commitment to offer the power of choice that responds to all types of automotive needs – from preferences in drivetrains and vehicle types to the eclectic lifestyles of our customers.”

The BMW M2 has been another powerful member of the M family and it has taken yet another step of evolution with the M2 CS. From its predecessor – the BMW M2 Competition, the M2 CS succeeds the iconic compact M character with a number of refinements to build on the success already achieved by the BMW M3 CS and BMW M4 CS. The new M2 CS has been developed side by side with the new M2 CS Racing model to bring the typical M character perfectly to the road.

A special highlight of the new BMW M2 CS is use of lightweight carbon fibre in its exterior panels and components to not only reduce weight but also improve cooling and aerodynamics. The elaborately designed lightweight carbon fibre construction for the bonnet cuts its weight by 50 per cent and comes with an eye-catching central air vent in High-gloss Black to increase downforce and improve engine cooling. The carbon fibre roof, offered for the first time on the M2, provides enhanced rigidity and acoustic properties. Together, the new roof and hood help lower the M2 CS’s center of gravity for improved agility. Also made from carbon fibre are the front splitter, the rear spoiler, rear diffuser and M twin-stalk exterior mirrors. The front and rear spoilers along with the diffuser work together to optimize air flow underneath the car and to further increase downforce.

The heart of the new BMW M2 CS is the 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder petrol engine with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology. Producing 331 kW/450 hp – 29 kW (40 hp) more than in the BMW M2 Competition – and peak torque at 550 Nm, the power plant allows the M2 CS to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds at the top speed of 280 km/h. The BMW CS is equipped with the 7-speed M double-clutch transmission, and Drivelogic provides the driver with a choice between three preconfigured driving programs: COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+.

The suspension of the BMW M2 CS has been fine-tuned for use both on the racetrack and on road. The Dynamic Stability Control is supported in its task by the standard Active M Differential, which adapts the damper settings to make them ideal for a variety of driving situations. M Dynamic Mode (MDM), which can be activated automatically by either selecting SPORT+ mode, or engaging manually via the DSC button allows for a greater degree of dynamic freedom when the driver requires it, such as on closed course track driving. The BMW M2 CS also comes standard with the Adaptive M suspension, previously unavailable on the M2 models, and lightweight M 19-inch V-spoke forged wheels along with M Sport brakes - complete with red calipers.

The exterior of the BMW M2 CS stands out with exclusive Misano Blue metallic paint finish. Dual-branch exhaust system enhances aesthetic and aural appeal with two electrically controlled flaps and four stainless steel tailpipes bearing the M logo. The interior of the BMW M2 CS is distinguished by its exclusive racing components ranging from M Sport steering wheel to lightweight, bucket-style M Sport seats with red contrast stitching and integral head restraints featuring BMW M stripes. The M2 CS logo is present on the door sill plates to add the proximity of motorsport in every touchpoint.

The new BMW M2 CS is priced at THB 6,999,000 (VAT incl. with BSI Standard Package).
