The Product Innovation Awards 2022 was held by Business+ Magazine, a subsidiary of ARIP plc, in cooperation with the College of Management, Mahidol University. The awards recognise companies’ and brands’ achievements in product development and service excellence, creating innovations that lead to customer satisfaction. A panel of judges compiled and selected products and services with outstanding innovation from 10 categories before entering the nominees into a consumer voting process to decide the winner for each of the 28 awards. The awards, therefore, are indicators of the proven popularity of the two models under BMW Group Thailand among Thai customers.

The BMW X1 sDrive20d M Sport is a multipurpose SAV that comes with BMW’s iconic design, combined with its best-in-class performance and versatility. It has been well-received by a youthful, modern, and active customer group. The BMW X1 sDrive20d M Sport also arguably out-performs every other car in its segment, combining the driving pleasure for which BMW is renowned with versatility, functional appeal and cutting-edge technology. With outstanding driving characteristics, extensive infotainment and an updated range of BMW ConnectedDrive Services, the BMW X1 sDrive20d M Sport has retained its leading position in the market over the years.

The BMW X1 sDrive20d M Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which yields peak output of 140 kW/190 hp at 4,000 rpm and peak torque at 400 Nm at 1,750-2,500 rpm. The vehicle also stands out with its spacious cabin space and 505 litres of luggage capacity that can easily expand to 1,550 litres when the rear seat backrest is folded down. The MINI Cooper SE, on the other hand, fuses a legendary go-kart feeling, distinctive design, and premium quality with local emission-free driving. Bearing this concept in mind, male and female MINI drivers are mainly individualists and at the same time are part of a big community of environmentally concerned motorists. In addition to zero-emission driving, the user experience associated with the use of the display and innovative control system of the MINI makes a major contribution to the driving fun so typical of the brand. Seamless integration with their smartphones empowers MINI customers to remain fully connected with their digital life while they are in the car. The MINI Cooper SE played a great role in BMW Group Thailand’s success as the top leader in premium PHEV and EV segment with 32.9% market share.

The MINI Cooper SE is the first-ever MINI with a purely electric drivetrain. The motor of the MINI Cooper SE mobilises a maximum output of 135 kW/184 hp. Its maximum torque of 270 Nm is ready and available from standstill – a characteristic of electric motors. The new MINI Cooper SE accelerates from standing to 60 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. It effortlessly keeps pace with conventionally powered sports cars. The purely electrically powered MINI accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds; its top speed is limited to 150 km/h. The model-specific lithium-ion battery enables a range of up to 203-234 kilometres (WLTP Standard).
