The recently launched BMW 220i Gran Coupe Sport brings refreshing excitement to the luxury car scene with its exceptional performance, dynamic design, remarkable connectivity, and in-car digital experiences. The BMW 220i Gran Coupe Sport showcases its thrilling and exciting looks in a dynamically stretched silhouette with frameless side windows for the four doors. The slim, horizontally extending rear lights gives the car a broad stance on the road, especially in tandem with the High-gloss Black element in the front grille, as well as the front and rear bumper trim. The sporty rear design with two large exhaust pipes reinforces the agile and dynamic feeling. Full-LED headlights and rear lights come equipped as standard, lending the car an extremely modern expression. The BMW 220i Gran Coupe Sport is also fitted with 17-inch light alloy wheels in Double-Spoke style.
The driver-focused cockpit of the BMW 220i Gran Coupe Sport delivers vital information to the driver without requiring them to take their eyes off the road – from the fully digital 5.1-inch Info Display instrument cluster to the high-resolution 8.8-inch, touch-sensitive Control Display that is centrally mounted and angled towards the driver in customary BMW fashion. The automatic air conditioning with microfilter also makes the journey even more comfortable for both the driver and the passengers, while in-car device charging is now upgraded and more compatible with USB Type C sockets.
Equipped with BMW Live Cockpit Plus, the BMW 220i Gran Coupe Sport is now based on BMW Operating System 7 with variable, configurable widgets that display information in real time. On the other hand, Remote Software Upgrades now imports improved functions and new digital services into the car over the air. The latest human-machine interface technology is now enhanced with the BMW iDrive Controller, touch operation on the control display, and voice control via BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant by simply saying “Hey BMW”. Meanwhile, the My BMW App enables driver to control, check vehicle status, and send destinations directly to the vehicle from a smartphone. Other digital services BMW ConnectedDrive Store such as Apple CarPlay, Real Time Traffic Information, USB Map Update can also be accessed via the My BMW App.
To ensure driving excitement and comfort in equal measure, the BMW 220i Gran Coupe Sport features Cruise Control with braking function and speed limiter, while the Driving Experience Control allows driver to shift between ECO PRO, Comfort, and Sport driving modes that best suit the situation and preferences. The Electronic Parking Brake comes with Auto Hold function which helps automatically apply and release the brake, easing driving stress in traffic congestion. At the same time, Parking Assistant with rear view camera facilitates parking into parallel and lateral parking spaces as well as leaving parking spaces parallel to the road. Reversing Assistant is also available in the BMW 220i Gran Coupe Sport, enabling the vehicle to reverse on the same path for distances of up to 50 meters.
Powering the BMW 220i Gran Coupe Sport is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. Paired with a highly sophisticated 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch, the engine produces up to 141 kW/192 hp of power and a peak torque of 280 Nm from 1,350 to 4,600 rpm. This gives the car a 0-100 km/h sprint speed of 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 238 km/h.
