BMW Group Thailand is ready to bring its state-of-the-art premium automotive technologies to the 36th Motor Expo – set to be held this year at Challenger Halls 1-3, Impact, Muang Thong Thani from November 29 to December 10, 2019. Leading the line for BMW this year are the new BMW X3 M and the new BMW X4 M, the latest members of M family that combine the practicality of the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) and Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) with the powerful DNA of BMW M, as well as the Anniversary edition with exclusive BMW Individual fittings BMW M5 Edition 35 Years. BMW X3 M

The new BMW X3 M

For the first time, BMW M is expanding its high-performance lineup to include models in the mid-size Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV). The BMW X3 M packs a newly developed six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, producing a maximum output of 353 kW/480 hp and propelling the vehicle to a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of 4.2 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h. With race-tuned chassis technology working in tandem with the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, this extraordinary power is transferred to the road with poise and assurance.

 

The new BMW X3 M measures 4,726 mm in length, 1,897 mm in width, 1,667 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,864 mm. M-specific design features optimize the supply of cooling air for the BMW X3 M, as well as their aerodynamics. Inside the car, the M-specific cockpit, electrically adjustable M sports seats with Merino leather upholstery with M seatbelts, M leather steering wheel and M gearshift selector lever create a sporty and luxurious ambience. Offering unrivalled practicality, the new BMW X3 M provides passengers with a massive space as well as a boot capacity of 550-1,600 litres.

 

Fitted as standard in the Thai edition of the BMW X3 M are 21-inch M light-alloy wheels, Panorama glass roof, Adaptive LED headlights and the Harman Kardon sound system. The perfect combination between the muscular sleekness of a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) and the exhilarating power of BMW M, the new BMW X4 M is powered by the newly developed six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology. With up to 353 kW/480 hp of power, the BMW X4 M can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.2 seconds from a standstill before speeding up to an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h. BMW M5

The BMW M5 Edition 35 Years

The exclusive character of the high-performance sports sedan come to life with particular intensity in the BMW M5 Edition 35 Years. The point of departure for the configuration of the Edition model is provided by the BMW M5 Competition, in which racing-inspired performance reaches a whole new dimension in a sedan. This is due to the V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo Technology, a maximum output of 460 kW/625 hp and a maximum torque of 750 Nm along with the particularly direct engine connection, the distinctively configured suspension technology, the all-wheel drive system M xDrive and the Active M Differential in the rear axle transmission.

 

The driving experience offered by the BMW M5 Competition is defined by powerful thrust,
optimum traction, outstanding ride stability and handling that can be controlled precisely at all times. It completes the sprint from standing to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, passing the 200-km/h mark after 10.8 seconds.

 

The exterior and interior of the BMW M5 Edition 35 Years are as impressive as its driving performance figures. Particularly high-quality M design features developed especially for the Edition model and BMW Individual fittings give the vehicle the status of an exclusive collector’s item. Its striking appearance is particularly ensured by the BMW Individual special finish in Frozen Dark Grey II metallic which has a special pigmentation to create a silk matt surface impression Newly designed 20-inch M light alloy wheels in Y spoke design and the colour Graphite Grey were created exclusively for the Edition model. In addition, the calipers of the standard M compound brake system are finished in high-gloss black. The M carbon ceramic brake system is available with brake calipers finished in gold.

The new BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport

This second generation of the plug-in hybrid model combines the purely electrically powered driving pleasure of a BMW plug-in hybrid model with the versatility that is typical of a Sports Activity Vehicle. The new BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport’s fuel consumption figures is as low as 43.5 km/litre according to the ECO sticker. The top speed when driving on electric power alone is also increased from 120 to 135 km/h, while its electrically powered range reaches 67 to 87 kilometers in the new WLTP test cycle.

 

The vehicle comprises a 3.0-litre and 210 kW/286 hp in-line 6-cylinder engine from the current BMW EfficientDynamics drive family and the fourth generation of BMW eDrive technology. An electric motor with an output of 83 kW/113 hp, a lithium-ion battery with a gross energy content increased to 24.0 kWh and further developed power electronics for intelligent energy management give the plug-in hybrid system of the BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport unique performance characteristics as well as an impressive level of efficiency.

 

Together, the two drive units generate a system output of 290 kW/394 hp along with a maximum system torque of 600 Nm. The combustion engine and electric motor deliver their power to an 8-speed Steptronic transmission of the latest generation and the intelligent all-wheel drive system BMW xDrive. This ensures sporty driving pleasure on the road and supreme off-road performance over loose terrain at all times. The new BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport takes 5.6 seconds for the sprint from zero to 100 km/h, which is 1.2 seconds less than the predecessor model. Its top speed is 235 km/h.

 

The new BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport is fitted as standard with a two-axle air suspension and electronically controlled dampers. Apart from a comprehensive selection of features in the area of intelligent connectivity, new digital services are also offered that are geared specifically towards electromobility. In addition, all driver assistance systems developed for the Sports Activity Vehicle help enhance comfort and ultimate safety.

 

The BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport is available in four paint finishes: Black Sapphire, Mineral White, Phytonic Blue, and Arctic Grey Brilliant Effect.

The new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman and the new MINI John Cooper Works Clubman are powered by the same 225 kW/306 hp 4-cylinder turbo engine, displaying outstanding performance in the compact premium segment. Both models are among the most powerful vehicles ever approved for public road use in the brand’s sixty-year history. Maximum torque has increased by 100 Nm to 450 Nm, and acceleration performance has also risen commensurately. The new MINI John Cooper Works Clubman turns in an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, with the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman achieving the same in 5.1 seconds – 1.4 and 1.5 seconds faster than in the respective previous models. The extraordinarily powerful engine is combined as standard with a new 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission, including mechanical differential lock on the front axle, an ALL4 all-wheel drive system, a specifically engineered chassis, and additional reinforcement modifications for the body structure, engine connection and chassis fastenings. This enables the John Cooper Works racing sensation to attain a completely new dimension of performance.

 

The overall package put together by the John Cooper Works with its sheer dynamics, agility and precision, is completed by model-specific design features in the exterior, which serve to optimise the vehicles’ aerodynamic features and air duct design. The large air inlets on the front of the vehicle are designed to serve the cooling requirements of both the drive and the brake system. In addition, the outstanding performance characteristics are reflected in the model-specific design of the side skirts and the independent rear aprons with integrated diffuser elements. Model-specific roof spoilers play a role in reducing uplift at high travel speeds. In addition, the two new John Cooper Works models are equipped with aerodynamically optimised mirror caps.

 

The racing sensation has been elevated to new dimensions, which can be enjoyed on all five full-featured seats. The characteristic interior sports car flair of both cars is partly down to the John Cooper Works sports seats with integrated head rests, the John Cooper Works sport steering wheel with multifunction buttons, the John Cooper Works selector lever, and the anthracite headliner.

 

The exclusive standard equipment of both top sports models in the MINI range also includes Adaptive LED headlamps, keyless ride, MINI Driving Modes, and the 8.8-inch display with touchscreen function and a redesigned graphical display. The integrated Connected Media equipment is able to access numerous MINI Connected online services such as wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless charger.
