3 national winners from BMW Golf Cup International National Final 2018 set to challenge for Thailand’s third consecutive championship title at the BMW Golf Cup International World Final 2018 in Mexico

Huahin, Prachuap Khiri Khan - The BMW Golf Cup International National Final 2018,
recently held at the Banyan Golf Club in Hua Hin, concluded with the selection of three national winners to represent Thailand at the BMW Golf Cup International World Final 2018, which will be held at Cabo del Sol Golf Resort on the southern coast of Los Cabos in Mexico on 18 – 23 March 2019. Emerging from a pool of 126 finalists and 2,800 contending golfers in total, the three will compete with golfers from 40 countries around the world as Thailand seeks to follow up its historic record of winning the World Final two times in a row in 2016 and 2017 by capturing a third successive victory in the BMW Golf Cup International – the largest international tournament series for amateur golfers initiated in 1982 and held consecutively for the past 36 years.

 

The national winners in each category are as follows:
1. Category Men 1 (handicap 0-12) – Khun Paphop Tansirichaiya (34-38-72),
Stableford Score: 41
2. Category Men 2 (handicap 13-28) – Khun Prayad Sompang (39-43-82),
Stableford Score: 39
3. Category Lady (handicap 0-28) - Khun Pornsawan Chansuke (45-41-86),
Stableford Score: 36

 

In addition, BMW Thailand has also invited participating golfers to donate to Chaipattana Foundation in support of His Majesty the late King Bhumibhol Adulyadej’s sustainable development projects for the second consecutive year. This donation drive succeeded in raising a total contribution of over 4.76 million baht.

The three entities of BMW Group Thailand include BMW (Thailand) Co., Ltd. with responsibility for wholesales & marketing of BMW Group products, BMW Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. with responsibility for BMW and BMW Motorrad local production, and BMW Leasing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. with responsibility for financial services offerings to both wholesale and retail customers.

On-going investment has been put into the expansion of plant Rayong in terms of assembling processes, aiming to meet growing customer demand. In addition, with approximately 4 billion Thai Baht representing the amount of annual purchasing in Thailand, the BMW Global Purchasing office has been established in Thailand. This is to source various components from local suppliers in Thailand and the broader ASEAN region, in order to supply the entire BMW production network of 30 production and assembly facilities, located in 14 countries worldwide.

 

As of October 2018, BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand produces the following 15 models: BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, BMW X1 and BMW X5. For BMW Motorrad the BMW F 800 R, BMW F 750 GS, BMW F 850 GS, BMW R 1200 GS, BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, BMW S 1000 R, BMW S 1000 RR and BMW S 1000 XR are also locally assembled at the plant. In addition, BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand now assembles four BMW plug-in hybrid models; BMW 330e, BMW 530e, BMW X5 xDrive40e and BMW 740Le.
