BMW TWINPOWER TURBO PETROL ENGINES.

The BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder petrol engine is one of the key elements of the BMW EfficentDynamics strategy: a TwinScroll turbocharger with Valvetronic, double-VANOS and High Precision Injection mean lower fuel consumption and an increase in dynamics.
The 4-cylinder petrol engines in the BMW 5 Series boast high dynamics and low fuel consumption – thanks to BMW TwinPower Turbo technologies. It uses Valvetronic fully-variable valve control and petrol direct injection to reduce consumption, while TwinScroll turbochargers and the double-Vanos simultaneously increase performance and response. The figures speak for themselves: the engine in the BMW 528i provides a powerful 160 kW (218 hp) and accelerates with 350 Nm from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds – with combined consumption of 16.4 km/l and combined CO2 emissions of 142 g/km. The engine in the BMW 520i also delivers excellent performance: its 135 kW (184 hp) powertrain only used 16.7 kilometres per litre (combined) and reaches 100 km/h from a standing start in just 7.9 seconds.

BMW TWINPOWER TURBO DIESEL ENGINES.

The BMW TwinPower Turbo diesel engine for the BMW 5 Series: even more powerful, even quicker off the mark – and even more efficient.

In the BMW 525d, the engine is an efficient powerhouse: 160 kW (218 hp) accelerates the BMW 5 Series Sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds– with combined consumption of just 21.3 km/l and combined CO2 emission of 123 g/km.

The BMW 520d also guarantees sustainable driving pleasure: its powerful BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder diesel engine provides 380 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. Combined fuel consumption is an impressively low 22.2 km/l and combined CO2 emission of 119 g/km. This much efficiency results in a maximum range of an astounding 1,555 km.
